I was reviewing some of the CoD2 posts again, and looked at some of the other mods I have downloaded and noticed many have map and other gsc files in them. Should these be modded and then added to any weapons mods that use new fx? Now I am a bit more confused, LOL.

I don't think you need a .gsc, but you do need to have the model, fx, animations, and the weapon info file.
nullFew tips for coding.
1. Keep the script as short as possible.
2. Don't comment every line. Only comment portions where they may be needed to point something out.
3. Don't over complicate the script, keep it organized and easy to read.

These help you find simple errors and makes it easy to make changes.

It all depends upon what you are trying to do to the weapon.

If you simply want to take out things like sway and edit the zooms and distances they shoot you can simply edit the weapon file itself.

You will need to keep he path the same in your mod and add any edited files to that.

If you want to get a little more complicated you can change the settings in the weapon.gsc file - but you must be careful. You can really screw things up!!!! Believe me I know!!! been there done that.

There are mods already available that have enabled a lot of modifications to be made to how the weapons interact and react for that matter using dvars inside config files. Use these mods first and look at how they are put together before you start going through the effort to change them.
