Hey!

I am Jdawgg (site manager of www.rtcwfiles.com) but more known for my
video tutorials. I made some video tutorials for Doom 3, and made a
large collection of videos for Call of Duty which never resulted
because Wyatt Earp beat me to the chase :).

Anyway, there are a slough of new mappers trying to learn the Call of
Duty Radiant
as well as Doom 3 Radiant. I am offering the first-even
live and interactive tutor session. Depending on its success, I may or
may not hold more sessions on more advanced mapping. However, I am
setting up a service where, if interested, a new mapper can connect to
my computer via a free remote accessing program called RealVNC where
they will be able to watch, and listen to my commentary (over
TeamSpeak) different lessons in mapping. They will also be able to ask
questions live, and might be able to interact with the editor on my
computer, so if I want I can allow them to recreate what I just tought.

This service would be a 1 to 1 event. Sort of a first-come, first-serve
basis. If you get a hold of me before everyone else, you will be first
in line. However, if there are 4 or 5 others waiting to have their 1 on
1 session, you will have to wait probably about a week before I get
down the line to your spot.

To start, you will have to go to www.realvnc.com and download their
software. It's important to note that it is not necessary to fill out
ANY of the fields they request. If you'd like, you simply select the
FREE version of the software, and move on to selecting your platform
(OS) and download type (zip or exe). You will need the VNC Viewer
Program, so no need to download the Server + Viewer bundle.

Next, you will have to go to www.goteamspeak.com and download their
voice-chat software. It is also free, and is mirrored on the front page
in the upper-right hand corner. You will need the TS2 Client installed,
and can disregard the TS2 Server. You will need only speakers, but if
you want to ask questions you will need a microphone.

It is highly recommended the person downloads and installs both pieces
of software before sending me an e-mail, because I will schedule a time
and date that best fits their availability, and will simply provide
connection information for both VNC and TeamSpeak, and they will be
expected to do the rest. None of this is rocket science, so some
independence is needed by the tutee to have the necessary software
installed in order to take part in the tutoring sessions. If you are
unprepared, you may lose your spot in line.

So, you want to learn how to make a map using the Call of Duty or Doom
3 Radiant? You have all the necessary software that I require? Okay
then, shoot me an e-mail and we will schedule a time where we can get
together. My e-mail is jdawgg@sollice.net and you are welcome to
register for any type of tutoring session. Now I am not god, if I am
unsure of a topic I might not be able to give you the lesson, but you
wont know until you ask!

I hope this service is helpful, and I look forward to training a new generation of eager mappers!

Regards,

Jdawgg

Hehe, I tried video tutorials, but Wyatt Earp seems to have covered the hell out of them lol. I started making video tutorials for Doom 3, but Brian Trepanier made about 3 per day (I don't think he has a job ;)) so he sort of put me out of business there.

If I can find new content to make mapping tutorials on I may. I also might record my first session (which by the way is already researved). I am excited to see how this first session turns out!

Jdawgg

The first session went very well, and I am excited to say this service will remain OPEN. So anyone interested, just shoot me an e-mail.
