How do you make Dynamic Models?

I’ve been poking around and I think I’ve almost got it however almost just doesn’t cut it.

I get a model converted but when I build the fast file I get an error which reads:
Code:
ERROR: no physics preset specified for DynEntity at [-48.0,-480.0,64.0] with xModel [mds_mdl_test_sphere]

If I do have a phys preset on the model it gives me another error and the compile fails.

Code:
************ ERROR ************
Could not find source file 'C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare\share/main/physic/brick'
Converting xmodel 'C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\model_export/tests\sphere_LOD0.XMODEL_EXPORT'...

The preset I’m using is located in the folder: ROOT/raw/physics

Not sure where to put a preset since it dumps one to the physics directory I assumed that’s the one I should be using but obviously I’m not A)putting it in the rite place or B) I’m not using the rite folder to grab my presets from…

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Is it in root/raw/physics or root/raw/physic? It should be the second one.

dunno why it's looking in Cod4\share\main, I'm assuming you extracted the tools to the Cod4 directory and set up the correct path on the cod4compiletools?

Hi..

Ive been playing with dyn models myself. (Trying to get a mannequins head to fall to the ground when shot.)

I kind of got it to work, but im the only one that see the heads fall off, rest of the players in the map(Server side) still see the heads on the mannequins, even after shooting it and ive seen the head fall off.
Anyway if you want to play more, this is what i did:

Create a folder in your main directory of cod4 called "main_shared"
root\main_shared

Then Copy the folder "physic" from
root\\raw\physic

And place it into your main_shared folder that you created earlier.
So now you should have: root\main_shared\physic

And now you need to go to you model in radiant and press shift + y
this will bring up dyn model parameters.where you can set type clutter, health and also here you can set your physic preset .

Hope this helps,
