HI
i have a small problem, how to make the hmg standing or croutching texture for machinegun work in game??

Simple really.

In the Textures - Common you will find two diffferent kinds of textures for the HMG. There will be HMG Standing, and HMG Crouching. If you want them to crouch when mounting the machine gun (such as for a sand bag) than pick that. If you want them to be standing (for instance a hand railing or a crate) then use the HMG Standing texture.

Now, when you place it down, be sure of the following:

- It overlaps the brush you want it to mount to
- It is pulled away from the brush in the direction of where the player will be standing at least 8 units
- Make sure the texture comes at least 1 unit above the brush you are mounting it to
- Make sure the texture is flush against the ground

Then it should work.

When in doubt, open up mp_foy in the editor and look at their windows and their walls where they allow MG mounting. That's what I did. See how they do it and just duplicate it.

but when i run the game the texture changes to another one
its weard but thanks i will make it work or my name is not THE MAPPER [biggrin]

The HMG texture is not ment to show when you run your map. It only shows up in the editor. In game, it just does its purpose, but is invisible.

The same goes for all the "common" textures.

I can get the HMG standing and crouch to work in multiplayer, but not single player.
Question: Does the texture only apply to mp maps?

(i.e. - when in single player, where the texture is placed, acts like the FULLCLIP texture, only, it absorbs bullets with no scarring\bullet holes. It becomes an invisible barrier that i think enemy AI cannot shoot through.) MP specific maybe?

The texture is changing in sp so in mp should be allright thanks,and im not a new in this buisness i know alot about map creating but also alot i dont know [casanova] and at the ending i will say that not all common textures are ivisible in game example terrain texture [biggrin] Bye!!
