Hi all,

I've recently gone through the video tutorials on this site, as well as the "radiant basics" provided by IW wiki. That really gave me a good base understanding of the fundamentals. I've built a good size room with various doors, windows, and textures. Figured out the prefab door/window frames and how to adjust the surrounding brushes to make them fit together correctly. [biggrin]

My may problem is understanding some stuff thats even more fundamental than making a room, how about the outside portion of the map? Do I draw one huge brush that will act as the "floor" for my entire map? How do I select my entire house, not just its components, to move it around?

As you can see, I can make some rooms with windows and what not, but I don't know much else. Any suggestions? I know the mod tools haven't been out that long, so finding in depth tutorials can be a struggle. Any help that you guys can throw my way to continue my learning process would be greatly appreciated. [wave]

well, you don't have to only look in the CoD4 tutorials, you can also look in the CoD2 and CoD tutorials for about 80% of the stuff you'll ever need reguarding maping and scripting.

BTW, to select your whole house, draw a big brush around the house, right click, select, select inside. then everything 100% within your brush will be selected and moveable. And by 100% I mean the entire brush has to be inside it for it to work.

I definately recommend the video tuts you find in the CoD1 section, wyatt's tuts are very informative, and the basics havent changed really so they still apply.
