What is the console command to load a custom map? I have seen the answer here alot, but for the last hour I've been looking and can't find the posts with it.

/rcon map mapname

e.g - If my map was called Adamsmap i would use

/rcon map Adamsmap

The / infront of Rcon is important because it makes what you type not come out in 'T' Chat,

e.g - if you were logging into rcon and you didnt put / infront of rcon people would be able to see what you typed and login to rcon.

In the stock maps, mp_mapname was just used to signal multiplayer versions of the maps, if you hadnt noticed, most of the mp maps are just small chunks of the sp game.

Thanks, but it didn't work. I typed in /rcon map mp_matroska_beta1 and hit enter and nothing. I tried it in both Mods too.

are you talking about on a live server or just on your local machine...?


Live game server comand is
/rcon password map mapname

local machine
/map mapname
also for cheats and stuff i think you can do
/devmap mapname

and yes the slash is important ona live server or everyone wil see your rcon password.. byebye server if this happens lol

on a dedi server,

to save typing /rcon password [command]

just type /rcon login rconpw when you get on, saves doing /rcon password [command]
