This is probably really simple but i am unable to flip a texture. How is it done?

In the toolbar at the top, there are buttons which read: Tex flip Y Tex flip X Ctrl-shift select your faces and click those

Be aware that when you flip it, if often will not be lined up correctly. Use Alt +Right mouse button or press S and change the alignment by hand once you get it flipped.
