This tutorial will show you how easy it is to make a new bind on your keyboard for the entire Call of Duty game series.

- 94Sniper

First off, a bind is a specific key that you can press to make something happen. Such as the w key making you move forward in the game. However, you can also make a new bind to say something to either your team or everyone in multiplayer. Let's get started.

Console:
1. First, you need to enable your console, this can be done by going to 'options' from the Main Menu and then selecting 'game options'. You can then toggle whether or not the console can be used. select yes so that you can use the console.
2. Now you need to bring down or open up the console, and there are two methods of doing this in CoD2 and CoD4. You can either press the regular ` button on the top-left corner of your keyboard, or you can hold shift and press ` to bring down the larger version of the console, but during a game it would be much wiser to use the small version.
3. Now that the console is open, you need to tell it what to do. Commands often need a / infront of whatever you're saying. so we'll enter the following example:

/bind
This will tell the game that you want to set a new bind. Now delete that and enter:

/bind y say "x"
In this example there are variables, yes just like in Algebra. In this case, y is equal to the key that you want to set the bind as. I'll use 9. Now it should look like this:

/bind 9 say "x"
Now there is still the x variable. This is what you want your character to say. I want it to say "Good Game!!!" with good colored red, game colored white, and the exclamation points colored blue. so it would look like this:

/bind 9 say "^1Good ^7Game^4!!!^7"
The ^1, ^7, and ^4 is what makes the words colored. You can use this in regular game typing aswell. I don't know if the ^7 at the end is necessary or not, but it cant hurt.
4. Now you can press enter and exit out of the console. You've just made a Bind! Pretty easy huh? You can also make bind for any key you want, just make sure the key isn't already being used!

If you're playing a mod, the bind will only work in that mod. You have to rebind it (once) in every mod you play.

Yep in different instances of Awe Mod for UO, binds for my clan server dont work on the other Awe servers because they each create their own config file.

good work though on explaining it to people who may not know what binds are and what they can do.
