Sounds like Your map may have a leak and still compiles or one or more of your worldspawn skybox paramters may be incorrect.
Check for a leak - click file>Piontfile and it will draw a red line if you have a leak.
if not double check your worldspawn parameters.

setting ambient light in worldspawn might do it. Did you portal the house or is it open?

before i try the two replys, i have to ask about compiliing...
what i found i have to do is run the compiler under the call of duty folder for q3map to work, then rename the folder to game and run the compiler again to have flare work.. does this sound correct or is this possibly causeing a problem?

Have you actually added your Worldspawn values?

If not, your likely to get bright light everywhere...

I haven't actually tried compiling in COD:UO yet, but if you read the Tutorial here it tells you step 1 (Locate your install directory)

This is relatively easy --> open My Computer and browse to C:\Program Files.
Locate the folder called Call of Duty.
Right-click the Call of Duty folder and click rename.
Call this folder "Game". (This change will need to be undone to play the game - so you will need to browse back here and rename the folder back to Call of Duty)

step 2 (Create the .bat)

I don't know why it says to change folder to "game", if you change the the text in the .bat file it does the same thing afaik.

"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uoTools\bin\q3map" -game uo "C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uo\maps\mp\yourmap"
pause
"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uoTools\bin\q3map" -vis -fast -game uo "C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uo\maps\mp\yourmap"
pause
"C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uoTools\bin\flare" -fast -game uo "C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uo\maps\mp\yourmap"
pause

All you have to do is put your map in the "C:\Program Files\Call of Duty\uo\maps\mp" folder and then run the .bat [also in the folder] and it worked fine for me.

lol is flare associated with the flare from the sun or what? i dunno wtf it is that we all gotta do so much to fix...I just compile without fixing the 'flare problem' and my map works just fine....then again it is all indoors and has no skybox.

and your map will more than likely have a very bright atmosphere...no ambient...and no shadows or shadow cast

flare is the lighting and the way it interacts with the stuff in your map [angryalien]
