Is there any possible way of converting the Deadly dozen drag and drop level editor for COD, with all this technology you would think they could make a drag and drop editor for a game such as cod, and save your comments about me being dumb and i need to learn cod radient/greydient coz i am having mad trouble understanding it so therefore i am dumb at it, no offense intended

As far as I know, there will be no such thing made for CoD.

Use the tutorials and videos tutorials by wyatt to help. Without themI would'nt have started mapping. Once you get used to it, you wont want a drag and drop level editor.

Drag & drop is extrememly boring.

Personally I like building things from scratch.

But im sure alot of people would use a d&d editor for cod.

if One existed.

I have to agree, a drag and drop editor would be nice, but would probably mean that custom maps would generally become "fairly" similar to each other....

If you think about it Radiant/Gradiant can be a drag and drop editor to some extent by creating prefabs, then dragging em to where you want (I understand this is by no means the kind of D&D editor that you mean!)

I think I am speaking for a lot of custom mappers here that have learnt from all the tutorials, that a D&D editor would be somewhat limiting. Many of us enjoy creating unique buildings and scenery, and it is partly this that gives us the high element satisfaction we get from mapping.

This is of course just my opinion.

PS we are not all map gods on this site (a few of them are!), but learning to create maps at first takes perseverance, then becomes an addiction! [tongue]

drunkenclaptrap...you forgot to add pain in the a$$ to your list

radiant can be annoying at times and somewhat difficult to wrap your head around when you first start...i know i had no end of problems when i first started....but by learning from my mistakes and mistakes of others....and learning to do things right the first time, and never be afraid to try something that hasn't been done before

my one suggestion would be STAY AWAY FROM ANY CSG FUNCTION

and

have fun

well - i guess thats 2 suggestions...lol

I would actually suggest that Prefabs are not the way to go.
Many of the prefabs (but by no means all) that can be downloaded have serious errors and can cause more problems than they are worth.

You often find duplicate planes etc in prefabs.....

Start by making a small house or something like that....You'll find it more satisfying and not terribly hard.

really the only prefabs you should use are your own. I have come to never trust other people's prefabs - most of them give me glitches and were made using CSG functions (but who can tell?).

i have spent the last 2 days downloading the video tutorials and watching while creating very carefully, WOW you are right it is very satisfying to build your own models(buildings) i have just finished my very own prefabed house and it looks ten times better than i could have ever imagined, your words of confidence help me stay devoted to the cause thanks

p.s is there anyway i can save my prefab and let one of you guys take a look to see if everything is done correctly?
