After a number fruitless searches i'm resorting to posting for help lol. I'm working on an SP map for CoD4 which was coming along pretty nicely until I changed a few dyn_model entities into misc_prefab entities using the entity editor & removed all physics associated keys & values from them. After an unusually quick compile I compiled the fast file only to be greeted with a lengthy list of errors associated with the dyn_model entities i'd removed. I checked the map & the entity info screen had no mention of them but the map info screen listed a number of them. I decided to copy all of the brushwork & any working models into a new map to see if it would work. The map now takes a realistic time to compile but upon compiling the fast file I recieve an error message:

Any ideas what could be up with it? I've scoured the web & can't find a single reference to this error & i'm pretty much lost for ideas... Definitely picked the wrong week to quit smoking lol...

Assertion failure is not a good error, search the forums you will find many posts about it, most endup with one anwser, which is refer back to a working backup.

I looked through the forums but I couldn't find any posts with the same problem expression that it keeps throwing up for me. Looks like i've got a fair bit of work on my hands then since the version of my map that i'm working on is basically a stripped down rollback to what I had working previously [ohwell]

Thanks for the help anyway.

I just had the same problem and fixed it. By mistake I was looking at model pictures and added the model a_usmc_tank_pose_a to my map. I compiled BSP and then compiled reflections. When I got to Build Fast file I got the error. I had to open my map back up in the editor and went to the spot where I was thinking of adding a model. Low and behold there were the tank dudes laughing at me partially in the walls and all that. I clicked on the model and backspaced them out of my map, recompiled and I am good as new.

I hope this helps.
