One thing i forgot to mention: if you have a fairly simple map, or are VERY patient, it is possible to use the Misc--->Find Brush tool to go through all of your brushes, one by one, to find what's causing the problem.

Sometimes you'll get to a brush and it doesn't look like anything is there at all, just hit backspace to delete the invisible brush. But be careful it's not just really big, and/or you're inside of it ;)

The compiler actually makes an error log for you everytime its compiled. For mp maps its in
cod4MW\map_source\mp_mapname.errlog

Just open that with notepad and all the errors are there - no need for c'n'p. If the errlogs not there the map compiled fine.

another possible reason for your map doesn't update: 3dbsp and/or fastfile are write-protected (for some reason...). remove them manually or rename map and recompile, rebuild etc.

Ooooh didn't know that, thankya (still a noob here). Does it log only the errors or the entire bsp compile?
