You're trying to overwrite one of Maya's settings files with an xmodel_export, which should go in Cod4\model_export\model_folder

I followed these instructions and am still getting the same error...

-Open up the Model Exporter in the Call of Duty 4 Menu. And press, Add new Entry.
-Then select your model and press Set Exports. Setup the correct folder and give the file
a name. Its important that the model destination is the right folder given by the mod tools.
In my case i export the model in this folder.
..\CallofDuty4\model_export\props\
-If all this is setup, activated the Entry1 and press Export Selected Entries.

I.m using maya 8.5 w. the Maya8_Plugins.zip plug ins. They are extracted in C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\bin\maya\tools

Also if I go under the Plug-in manager and click the Loaded Check Box it gives me this error.

// Error: This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem

And if I check Autoload they will show up as not loaded in the Plug in Manager when I restart the program.

Sure you extracted the 8.x plugins and not the 7.x plugins?

Sure you extracted the plugins into the bin folder and not into a folder named as the zip?

Sure you set up your ENV right?

If you did those things everything should work. Unless you have a corrupt installation of Maya or something.
