Topic says it all.

Is there in any way an option to run COD4 on an External HD? I would want this to work together with my GameDesign school. I have the ability to spend 1 day a week on Level Design and want to continue with my COD4 projects.

If there is a way please share it or help me find out a way to make it work.

thanks in advance

It works fine moving from drive to another, but I don't know how if it'll run on another computer as I don't know if it needs to read or write to the registry. I'm pretty sure CoDUO didn't mind when i last reinstalled windows though, so you might be lucky with CoD4

Test it out at school first too.
I tried to do mapping from my external drive, but ran into a lot of problems.

1) I needed admin access at the computer at school so that the "hardware" would register.
2) The computer needed a Shader Model 3.0 card
3) For some reason, all the files had write access but the folders were read-only, so I could make changes in my map but I couldn't save it.

I have a Western Digital 150MB, NTFS format.
