I've done it your way (which I did read) but I should've written it as "Also tried putting the .iwd's in my fs_game folder and the .ff's in the usermaps/mapname folder. Both ways do actually work. My problem was that I made the .iwd with Winrar which doesn't work for making iwd's. Use Pakscape instead and name the file mp_yourmapname.iwd and save it as a .pk3. You can download Pakscape from here.

No joy that way either Grumpy

Only difference i can see is that now i've got a console and a game log in my custom maps folder.

Tried using different different assman settings (both from here and settings that worked with cod2), different dds settings.....everything i could think of.

Are you on patch 1.4 or 1.5?

Will try Tridons method next.

Thanks :)

glad you got it working, you should be able to use winrar, just make it as a zip instead of a rar when you create the package

so when you save it as a pk3, is it the Quake Pak or the Daikatana Pak? cause theres two .pk3 options to choose from.

Save it as a Quake 3 Pak .pk3 or as a .zip. Just remember to rename the file extension to .iwd

this is still not working for me, ive put the .iwd file in all my mod folders and still the textures stay white. I have put all the images and material in the iwd in their folders. Do i have to call the textures in the zone file? idk, but it still doesnt work for me.
