let me start of with a pic.

Now is this a bug with the shadows dissapearing the further away i get from them? And also i can't find the reason why everything is glowing so much.

I haven't changed anything on the map worldspawn settings wise and suddenly it's being overly bright. Anyone got a clue whats going on? Might it have to do with the shader bin error i get when using reflection probes? (not used in this map)

help would be appreciated

which shadow is disappearing? The one from the overhead railing?
My guess.. you're so far away, the ground texture switches to a lower mipmap.

The glowing.. no idea.. did you place reflection probes in this map? If so, how many? If not, did you run the reflection compile? Got any errors when compiling?
It may have something to do with the shaderbin error... post the exact error and we might know more.

edit: I just noticed you haven't made a grid file yet.. this might also be it.

It has never done the dissapearing shadow in previous compiles. No textures have changed and no worldspawn settings have changed.

I have not placed any reflection probed because i keep getting the shader bin error when trying to compile them. The error is
Can't find shader: shader_bin/ps_2_0_3fe1c8af

Weird thing is that i did make a gridmap but it doesn't seem to get used.

get modtools update v1.1 to fix the shader problem

Already have the update and i am running the newest version of .NET Frameworks 3.5

Also checked if my card (nvidia 7950GT) supported SM3.0 (ShaderModel3.0) and it does. So i am completely clueless on this subject.

Life saver Sevenz, thanks a lot. That is the reflection probe error fixed. Now to get this extreme glow fixed.

I posted this over at IW forums.

I checked the Debuglightmaps option and did another compile. For starters it did change the way the map looked. And i can now see through the glass in my doors/windows. Now to fix the rainbow buildings :D. It has something to do with my reflection probes. I have only 1 per room and there is no direct visual line to be made between the reflection probes so they are not conflicting. Might it be that i dont have enough?

BTW, nothing casts shadows anymore... none of my buildings.

set blocksize to 0 in compiler and retry

you should add at least one brush with a solid texture to your map. don't know why but that helped me out when i couldn't compile my map.
