is there a way i can edit any models/prefabs. in other words i want to take prefabs/misc_models/me_transmitting_tower.map and delete a section from it. can it be done even if not in radiant?

Open it up in Radiant. Of if you have it in your map, select the prefab and press ALT + PAGE DOWN to enter the prefab. ALT + PAGE UP to leave the prefab back to map.
