What I am experiencing now is unlogical problems due to what would appear to be bad programming.
If anyone knows a solution PLEASE SAY, as I am truly losing my temper with these tools, fast.
I made my map, in BETA stage, compiled it and it run 100% fine on my computer, the loadscreen, minimap, everything fine. I get it uploaded to a server for beta testing, I spot a few bugs, fix them in Radiant, recompile it making no changes to ANY other file and load the map only for it to crash saying it cannot find the loadscreen. THERE IS ABSOLUTLY NO REASON WHATSOEVER. The loadscreen images are in the CORRECT positions and it worked fine on the BETA and since no changes have been made to it, why would it not find it. If it's not the loadscreen error it's a minimap error, again stating it can't find the image file. Why is it that one time it will compile and it will find it, the next time it won't. I did have this same issue with my BETA map. I could run the map fine on mine as I stated above, yet my second PC came up with the same error (when running from .ff files and .iwd) I fixed this by simply recompiling. WHY ARE THE TOOLS SO TEMPORAMENTAL IN COMPILING? Now it's not even running the map from source files. I am trying to not to get frustrated but it is extrememly hard when I have a map that people seemed to like, and they can't play the final version because your tools don't want to find files that are in the right places. Please, I am not trying to be rude but you must see my frustration. I changed absolutly NOTHING other than open the map, edit, save and recompile and now it just crashes. I have tried redeleting the .ff files and .d3d9bsp files etc but it just will not load now. I have this map and a sequel to a very popular map :[GOB]:Rats waiting. It's just so frustrating and makes NO SENSE why it will not find the loadscreen, even from source files.
Please, anyone have any suggestions.

Ok this is just getting ridiculous
I completely uninstalled the tools, (saved my .map files and .gsc's) reloaded in all the tools starting from scratch, loaded in my map, worked fine, I done the minimap, saved as an .iwi, converted the assets, added it into my .csv loaded and it won't find the compass image.
It's just not finding any image at all. ![[mad]](images/BBCode/smilies/mad.gif)
I've tried remaking the image altogether, remaking .csv's, .gsc's and it just refuses.... what else can I do apart from just call it day.

Oh god, no offense to IW but do they actually TEST their software.

I highlighted everything to do with the compass. It's in my assets, my images, my .gsc, yet it still doesn't find it. I think I will just reinstall 1.4 for the time being. Jesus christ IW.
(Wow, I need to chill out ![[idea]](images/BBCode/smilies/idea.gif) LMAO but you must be able to see where I'm coming from)
btw I do have a .fx and .vision files. I just moved them out onto my desktop and effectively started from scratch just to see if they were at fault but it MUST be 1.5 causing it. |

I have this problem, but I haven't even downloaded the 1.5 patch cause of the problems I've been hearing about it, so I don't think the problem is with the patch.
I tested my map locally from the compiler and it worked fine, loadscreen and minmap. So I moved all associated files out of my CoD4 directory and packaged the map like I would for distribution to check there was no problems, but when i try and run my map I get that error.
I have 2 .csv files for my map but I'm not sure if this is right.

Don't know if this is causing the error for me, but I would still like to know if you are meant to have 2 .csv files.
