OK, so here is the situation. I made a map with a tonne of models and get a load of errors when I try to run the map in a server. I've spent ages trying to figure out what is wrong but got nowhere. So, instead of completely restarting, I was thinking of just copying the bits from the map that I know work without any errors into a new .map file. I tried opening two radiants, one unnamed and one which was my previous map. I then selected all of the brushes I wanted to copy and then pasted them into the other radiant program but nothing... Anyone know how to do this, or if its even possible.

Note: I've done this before, I think, with much less brushes and it worked so I'm not sure what I need to do.

Thanks in advance. [cool]

Edit: Ignore this, I've just this minute figured it out. If any of you have the smae problem, just copy the brushes and then press new map on the same Radiant program and it should come up with 'copy selection'?

try using the layers tab in the console (where entity properties, textures, and filters are).

make a layer and name it level_geo, and put all your buildings and terrain in it.

make a layer name game_types and put all your MP gametype support in it, or SP game play, whichever it is.

make another layer and name it ignore_me, then put all your models or whatever you think may be crashing your level, and put that in there. now click the icon between the check box and layer name until you see a red circle with line through it, like a No Entry sign. this will set this layer to be ignored during compiling.

if the level compiles after doing this, then go back in Radiant, and make a new layer and name it temp_work (or whatever), and start moving things out of the ignore_me layer into it, starting with what you absolutely HAVE to have in your level, moving on to things you just WANT in it.
