Okay, I just figured out how to add nightvision to your sp map in response to a post I saw a few days ago. I hope this helps anyone who's making a night based sp map!

Step 1: In your gsc file, add this line: maps\_nightvision::main();

Step 2: Now update your zone file and in the missingassets window type these lines manually into the right-hand side:

rawfile,maps/_nightvision.gsc
rawfile,shock/nightvision.shock
material,nightvision_overlay_goggles
material,hud_icon_nvg
xmodel,viewmodel_NVG

...and click save.

Step 3: Rebuild your fastfile.

Step 4: Test it out in game! It's as easy as that!

Optional: If you want weapons that have laser sights while using nightvision, there are only two that I know of in the stock game:

add-> level.player giveweapon ("m4m203_silencer_reflex"); to your gsc for the silenced m4 with the grenade launcher and red-dot sight.

add-> level.player giveweapon ("m4_grunt"); to your gsc for your basic rough-n-ready m4.

Err... This may be offtopic... Does this work in MP too? Can't find a MP Nightvision (replacing default nightvision) tutorial.

Thanks for this. I tried it but the nightvision sound doesn't play when I put the goggles on. Any idea why this is happening?

Thanks!

You may need to add that sound effect to .gsc? I'ver never used nv before, so I can't be sure.
