Hi,
Since the release of the new radiant I was busy drawing, desiging the layout for my future map, finished with the layout since couple days ago, and for the past 2 days, I started maping my prefabs-buildings.

Couple things interest me about the program, and the changes to it.
First, I cant move the vertices independently, the only way I could move them was by highlighting one, or fiew and then hold the ALT and move them, is this normal with the new radiant? Its very anoying and time consuming to go highlight the vertices, hold alt and move , and repeat.

Secound, where is the bend option? Did they remove it, last night I tried to bend some curve patches with cylinders, and make a rail, and was suprised that nothing happened when I clicked B.

Mostly thats 2 things Im woundering about now, the new compiling system looks interesting, and will be fun to learn.
For now Im going to be desiging my map, and not worry about how you compile and set up the ff files or whatever, when time comes I will try out the tutorials, and ask if I have any questions.

Unfortunately, you described the only way to move vertices, apart from selecting one or a few and pressing alt+arrow keys.

There is also no bend option in Cod4rad :(

The select and then use alt+drag to move the verts isn't as bad as it first seems - honest!

As for the bend tool, I was wondering about that, but some persistence got a useful answer out of IW ;-)

We should really be thankful that CSG subtract wasn't included (it wasn't even in COD2 radiant) as it was probably the main cause of corrupting .map files.

It was to do with how it worked.

It attempted to calculate a selection of brushes that could make the shape you wanted as you can't have a single brush with a hole in it. For regular shapes (rectangles and the like) it worked ok, but for more abstract shapes with many sides it could often leave very tiny brushes behind that were too small for the compiler to find and would error.

As it no longer exists you just have to cut out the middle man and create several brushes to make what you want ;)
