How can i speed up the download speed of maps file over a LAN network our network is 100 mb/s but it only downloads at 19 kb /s so it takes ages to download anything Even if i set the rate to 20 000 it still so slow and sometimes goes down to 1 - 2 b/s How can i speed it up?? SpuD

Thats simply the way the game was designed, and to have fast downloads you would need to use http redirect

k i understand this has nothing to do with speed or download. i tried asking this question but no one answered it. giving it another try... . How can i host a game in a server with my custom made maps? I tried putting my mapname.ff file in /cod4/zone/english but whenever i try to host a game my map does not appear on the list. sorry to post this in a wrong place.

Spud. Tristan's advice is correct. You need to use http redirect. You need to run a correctly configured web server on your LAN. I use a free webserver called Xerver for this very purpose at LAN's I run. Works brilliantly.
