i wondered if there is a tutorial to make a rotating red light.
some kind of emergency light ?

hmmm

i guess you could make a light entity
and surround it with a brush

but have a hole in it

like -> C <-that from the top xD

multiple brushes, and then select them all at once and
right click grid script-> brushmodel

then press n and give it :
targetname
rotating _light

and add this to .gsc :

thread lightSpin();


lightSpin()
{
rotating_light = getEnt( "rotating_light " , "targetname" );
while (1)
{
rotating_light rotateyaw( 360, 5, 0, 0 );
wait 4.9;
}

and if you make the light casing right, the shadow of the case should give you the effect i think you want

Brushmodels do not have shadows, I believe...

Right click -> Script -> model.
There is a alarm case or something.

key/value of targetname/rotating_light.

Inside that case should be a Primary light!

i think they do have shadows ... or at least for the sun THEY do

i made a blackhawk with spinning blades

the blades are script->brushmodels and makes a shadow from the sun.

maybe not from light entities but imagine so?


hmmm i guess youd do it with many brushes that each makes a bit of the circle.

make a little brush, like 2x2 or 4x4 units
and press E and you can drag the edges to make like slopes, triangles and use each 1 to make a part of a part of the circle xD

\_/ like that you know, but make it more sides, like 12 sides all the way around, each being 2-3 units from corner to corner.
