How do I go about making it so that I cannot walk through my models? For example I have a refrigerator but I can walk through it when I actually start the level.

create a brush and texture it with
usage-> tools "player" its red
this texture makes the brush an invisible wall for players
but it wont block bullets or nades

surround the fridge with it nicely


"clip" blocks people and nades (or it did in cod2)

"weap" blocks people, nades, and bullets.

"metal clip" is good for texturing just the top surface of the brush you'll put on the fridge, if people could jump from above ontop of the fridge, because itll make a metal footstep sound

"mon" is a clip for bots/ single player actors, players can go through it though.

"missile" blocks nades and rockets, probably c4 too
it doesnt block bullets, and i dont think it blocks players, but it might, not sure.

"clipweap glass" is same as weap, but shows a broken glass bullet hole.... i think bullets might be able to go through it, not sure.

i have no clue what all the "no sight" variants are. i never use em
i assume "full" is the same as weap? i dont know.

fried thats the hard way

heres the simple way


right click the grid select misc/prefab direct to the map_source/prefabs/misc_models select your model your model will now have some clip textures so that you cant walk through them and your bullet marks will show when you shoot them

go to the Wiki site and it will tell you properly how to add models with the "collmap" which is missing, which makes you be able to walk thru your model.

Its slightly different form CoD 1 & 2 which is where many people are going wonrg, me too, but i went to Wiki first:)

deleted commented based on my misreading [biggrin]


right click the grid
and select "misc"
then prefab

cod4/raw/map_source/prefabs/misc_models

then pick any model from the list

theres a "me_refridgerator"
just click the list press m and look for that
