hmm make it like prefabs/raw/shader_bin too? but it gives me almost nothing cause CoD4 in my language version got different font so my CoD4 don't work and i cant check my map ^^

that crashed me big time both ways to get xmodels

i tryed this and it didn't work

could you please try deleting your Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\raw\xmodel\raw\shader_bin folder and see if you get a error because if you do then we do need that folder
but if you dont then we dont need it

easy

p.s were else did you put it????

this raw file ..is the answer to alot off errors found this about prefabs

Hi all
i had the same prob
what you need to do is go into the raw file and in there you need to make a new folder and call it raw then you need to copy and paste the shader_bin which is in the raw folder and paste it in the new raw folder

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\raw\raw\shader_bin

And that should sort you out with the models

Now for the prefabs
Now you need to make a copy of the same raw folder with the shader_bin in it so you have a folder called raw with shader_bin in it
Then you need to paste it in the prefab folder which is in the map_source

C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\map_source\prefabs

Right now for the boring bit
you have to copy and paste that raw folder with the shader_bin in it to every folder in the prefabs folder if you open a couple of folders eg aftermath and ammo_pickups you will see that the contents are differant
AFTERMATH has other folders inside and AMMO_PICKUPS dont
so you need to open 1 at a time every folder in the prefabs folder but not whats inside them
So you open aftermath and paste the raw folder with the shader_bin into it
But when you open the ammo_pickups theres no need to paste the raw folder there as there are no other folders inside it

well it seems to only crash on a few dif things so save alot test and save again same as cod2 till we know witch ones lol

fixed!!

open radiant
open a map that contains already a misc_model (i.e. mp_test)
start a new map, or open one, and you'll be able to load models no problem.

ideally you only have to do that once per new project because once you add one model to your map, it won't repeat that error again for that map...

I noticed that because when I openend radiant for the first time yesterday, I actually opened backlot. I then started a new map without closing radiant, included a model and everything worked. this morning when I started a new map without opening another prior to it, it crashed when i imported a model.

so it is fixed! (well actually that is a work-around...)

edit: fyi, I did test that out.
-open radiant, new map, misc-prefab-misc_model --> crash
-open radiant, open mp_test, misc-prefab-misc_model --> works!

What i posted is a fix also. i don't need to do that work a round. if you guys would settle down and read the post carefully, maybe a couple of times to make sure you understand it. then it would work for you also. there have been 4 people that i know of that this has worked for them and the number is growing. I am one of those people. I originally thought that all i needed it for was the xmodels, then i got the error trying to load a prefab, so i did it for the prefabs, still got the error, so i copied the folders to the map_source folder, the error stopped. and it is fixed. just read the post carefully. also try visiting the blogspot site that is posted, maybe it will be better explained there

put the xmodel folder in the modern warfare folder... now I feel stupid... =P

This does work but in order to place the prefab and model do this.

To place a model on the map right click the grid > go to misc > go to model > then navigate to C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\raw\xmodel. This will make most of the models available for preview and will place the model on the grid.

To place a prefab right click the grid > go to misc > go to prefav > go to misc models. This will place the prefab on the grid.
