Does anyone know how to creat prefabs? I selected what i wanted, file>save selected as> saved in pprefab area> exampleprefab.map i then loaded it into my map and it was just a box with a wire frame any help?

Just make the thing you want as a prefab. No further things in your map! File > save as a .map and you're done
