I accidentally found a quick key feature that helps greatly with moving vertices. I have never read this anywhere so thought I would post. I assume this also works with older radiants? Haven't tried.

You know when you are selecting vertices. Once you have 1 , several or a row selected. Sometimes when you go to click and then move the vertice/s with the mouse it refuses to move!

Well I've found that if you hold the ALT key down and use the arrow keys it easily moves the vertices everytime! You also may need to adjust the grid size to determine how far you wish it to move.

Even if you have a row of vertices selected. You just use the arrow keys to change selected vertices as well.

I can see this helping, making work with vertices less frustrating.

I'm sure some seasoned mappers will have known about this but many I'm sure don't!

So for the ill informed. I just thought I would post it.

It obviously a new feature for COD4 radiant.

COD2 it just moves the terrain patch but does allow you to change from row to row.

It actually works with the mouse too, so long as you have the vertices selected and your holding the alt key you can move them with the mouse, seems to be the new way to do it, I guess it will stop you accidentally moving vertices like you could in the old ones

Aside from the extra way of moving vertices, are the controls for manipulating meshes the same as the older radiants then?

The new process of moving verts is to say the least combersum, but at least I got my middle eastern arch to look just about perfect.
