Very weird here.......I can't select a patch vertex one at a time by holding CRTL, but I CAN select a whole row by holding SHIFT.

And if I select a whole row of verticies, I can't unselect a single vertex by holding CRTL, and I can't add a single vertex by holding CRTL either. This is crazy.

Yes, my CRTL key works LOL. This is pretty basic stuff for patches. What is going on, what am I missing here? I've been out of the mapping game for a while, but CoD2 Radiant works and I know what I'm doing.

Is there some new way of selecting a single vertex instead of CRTL + Left Mouse Button???????? Is there some "tolerance" setting for clicking on a vertex? I've turned down the DPI on my mouse to be able to move like one pixel at a time and I cannot grab a vertex individually for the life of me. ANY IDEAS???????

I think I have it.......I can WINDOW AROUND an individual vertex, then hold ALT + LEFT MOUSE BUTTON to move it.

So........I can't select a vertex, but I can window one. WEIRD.

Oh well, guess that'll have to do. If anyone else runs into this issue, that's your answer!

Thats been an issue since cod1 and it just happened every now and again that a vertex on a patch is in such a place that the square that represents the vertex isn't actually in the exact spot.
It is actually selectable but its very fiddly to find where and I often have to zoom right in to find it but as you say it can be selected easier but as for the problem it just happens every now and again, sometimes placing a whole new patch works out easier if annoying lol

Why would it matter if you would have to hold 'alt'?

It still lets you drag that single point.

Just a question tho why would anyone want to select a single vert.
You can paint the height of a single vert with Y and make your circle smaller and just flatten it to a certain point.
Or if you want to connect verticies you can just window around 2 and press W.

Vert movement is crucial to enable some more precise things to be made (particularly when your patch is vertical paint height won't work).

Btw, you can drag a box around a vert (LMB) to select it before dragging with alt+LMB.
