Ive just downloaded the mod tools and extracted them. However the read me file says that the tools will not work in vista. When i press the .exe file to start the tools i get a message that it could not be started because of missing file mss32.dll. anyone know if this is because of vista or i just aint installed them right?

extract it to your call of duty 4 folder, then it should normally work!

Try running it in XP compatibility modde, apparently some people had success with that. Right click on the exe, go to the compatibility tab, tick the Run this program in compatilibity mode, and select windows xp.

Im running them on vista with no problems at all. The only thing i do get is everytime i hit 'save' the editor crashes.. Not that bigger deal i can live with that untill i decide to look into why it does it.

rasta, my cod2 radiant crashed in vista when I saved too. I first removed auto save so that it does not crash by itself every 5 mins. then it all got solved by "running as administrator". I assuming this is the same with cod4. I am saying assuming because I am still downloading right now ...

Yes you are right.. i figured this out after i started to get fustrated with looking at my desktop every 10mins or so.. I addded it to the FAQ for future reference

tried it all still crashes every 5/6/8 min witch net. is the best got the latest 3.5...... thank for youre help guys.

The only way I found to fix the tool/vista problem, was to reinstall xp and dual boot...So now I do all my modding in xp, and use vista for everything else.
