I have a question... I have gone through this tutorial and am having a problem getting this loadscreen to work... http://www.modsonline.com/Tutorials-read-325.html I CAN NOT save as a DSS file... is there a pulgin that im missing for photoshop or what???

Paint.net has native support for .dds files, without the need for plugins. I find it a lot easier. Get Paint Just fixed the url. Cheers edited on Jan. 12, 2008 07:36 pm by Foxhound

Paint.net is great if you don't have Photoshop. For us pirates that do, use this NVIDIA DDS PLUGIN

well i have the dds converter for photoshop and it does work for dds but in the tutorial it says several time to save as dss.. and I dont have an option for that... What is a dss? I dont even see any dss files in the cod2 mod or maps anywhere...

It's a typing mistake in the tutorial, it should say DDS, and not DSS. Maybe the tutorial could be edited

OHHHHHHH... I just didnt want to assume anything.. figured it was a format that I needed it to be but didnt have the right plugin. yeah might want to get someone to fix that.. Thank you Preacher

hey no problem, didnt really think i was pointing out error. hehe But on that tutorial I am confused about the 1024x1024 on the loadscreen size, I did that and the loadscreen comes out WAYYYYY too big, it over laps the screen by almost 3 inches all the way around.. Any idea why?

Which screen are you talking about? The one in your editor or the one that loads up when you're loading the map? If it's the one in your photo editor then just adjust your view percentage (Not sure which editor you're using). If it's the one when you load up your map to play in then I really haven't a clue as to what may cause that. However 1024 x 1024 is the size you need to make it happen. Cheers

well in the tutorial it says Quote: Step 2 Take your picture or screenshot that you wish to make into your loading screen, resize it to 1024x1024 and resolution must be set to 72. I am saving the pictures Im editing for the load screen 1024x1024 set to 72 resolution and when its all done and I start the game, the loadscreen picture is HUGE!
