hi all
I've got a really weird problem. All damage triggers i make dont work unless the player touches them. [eek] I've tried this in 3 maps where i have to shoot at targets which are unreachable and the triggers dont work unless I use noclip to reach them. Then they work normally. The only way to activate a trigger is to throw a nade at it. Otherwise it isnt working until i reach it. Is this some bug from the game or what? [confused]

1) Are oyu sure you hit the trigger? Because it does get triggered by a nade
2) Did you accidentaly set the trigger_damage so it can only be triggered by explosions?
3) A year or so back there was someone who had a similar problem, his trigger damage only worked once he had walked past them once... so the problem might be in the trigger_damage somehow..

I thought it may be connected to the size of the map because all maps i've used it in are big with lots of brushes etc. so I cut just the part which contains the trigger and the brushmodel made a spawn and compiled it... the same problem
Then I thought that it may be because of the many scripts i used in the gsc files so i made a very plane gsc file with only the script of the damage trigger... this didn't work too.
Finally i made a new small map with only a spawn , a stock damage trigger and an entity to be moved ... and when I tested it it worked normally.
So now I'm even more confused [cry]

Well, I continued trying .. I got a small map with terraine, water, 3 trees, trigger damage and an object to be moved by the trigger. The trigger didnt work.. so I started deleting things and compiling the map 1st I deleted the terraine but didnt work again, then i deleted the water (maybe the custom texture got in conflict) - again nothing. I was going to give up and then I thought "it won't cost me anything to try removing the trees" , and when I compiled it without trees the trigger worked perfectly O.o . Then I went back to the big map I was working on, deleted all trees near the trigger, compiled and the trigger worked without problems... LOL such a weird game bug - tree models getting in conflict with trigger damage. But at least I fixed my problem :D

might be a name conflict or radiant did something wrong... retry adding trees and check the names etc. and tell us if trigger still works
