Hey Guys!!
just a quick one...
Anyone know anything about lining up
a 3D skybox with your map.
I'm making a city street map with the upper floors of the tall building part of the skybox. I'm not sure where to
put the sky camera, or where to put the skybox itself.
the 1st 2 floors of the buildings are part of the map.
just not sure how to get the rest to line up, and look like the buildings just continue up. Do I have to have My map centered on (0,0,0)?
Any help would be very welcome. Thanks

the skybox is a bit tricky to setup.

This will help with a tutorial:

Thanks again Bro.
Works good, just a little off in places.
Hard to line up the bases of the buildings
with the 3D skybox tops. But I'll get it to
work. It cut down the render time by a few
hours too... lol
Now I have to put some hint brushes in.
should I make them pyrimid shaped, or leave
them as a normal shaped brushes?

hint brushes should be kept normal shape. Depends on why you are putting them in there. As a divider like a portal? Clip brushes?

Either way, the odd shape might cause odd divisions on polygons in the game. Stick with normal shapes when it's an option.

Thanks again. btw.
ok. anyone know how to keep
the texture scale from rounding up.
I use 0.0156 to get it to match up
with the .25 of the playing area.
but it rounds it up to .02 when I try
to adjust it's alignment with the
play area's textures.

Is there a way to shut off the rounding up feature?

just wondering
Thanks
