ive been working on my map a lot lately and i never have problems with doing Bsp fullvis so i can see my map.
but today i wanted to see my map again so i did bsp fullvis but this time radiant didnt make changes in the .bsp file. it only changed the .map .lin and .bak files. i also tried to save it under a new name but when i did this radiant didn't even create a .bsp file. so i can't see the changes i make to my map in the game, only in radiant because radiant opens the .map file.
can anyone help me please ?

Hi

Sounds like you have made a brush error or something similar

It is preventing the BSP process finishing

You may need to revert back to an earlier version of the map if you have one

Try making a big solid box around all your map - then try full-vis - this will test if it has a hole/ leak etc (which should really show up during the vis process)

yeah you must be right because i tried something new i never tried before which is making gametype_players and giving them entities. i deleted all of them after i got this problem but it did not solve it.

with a big box do you just mean 4 walls built around my whole map and then try bsp fullvis again? what and where will i see the error?

thnx for helping

Hi

If you build the box around your map and then try full-vis...and it works - then the error is almost certainly a leak in the map

Radiant usually finds this during the vis process and illustrates it with a red line showing the leak position

If (which I think is more likely) you have a brush or entity error - it is usually the best solution to revert to an earlier map version and try again

Hi

Try selecting all the visible brushes / entities in your map - then copy/paste them to a new map

You may be able to use "select inside" to select many brushes at one time
