Hey all!

For cod4 i have already started on a map layout for my upcomming cod4 release: Castelnau-Paygerols.
I visited this place when i was on vacation and thought of making a map based on it. My goal is to make a map that is beautifull and yet enoyable to play on.

So if anyone has comments/suggestions/criticism please post and tell me!

If your map-making is anything like your drawing, it should be a breeze [biggrin]

That's probably the most detailed plan of a map I've ever seen, good work.

That sure is ambitious, how many of those buildings are likely to be enterable?

If only my map drawings on paper were that good. Even i have trouble understanding mine, let alone someone esle.

Diagonal buildings aint too bad, although ask atfer 20 odd, and i might say different. Circular buildings (or round corners) are the bugger.

i don't know yet how many are enterable. I first want to finish the buildings and streets and from there i'm going to see which buildings can be enterable.

the dark grey spots are buildings, church and graveyard should be selfexplaining lol

white plots are gardens/fields and street

i will upload a photo as soon as my connection allows it, to much people downloading/uploading here atm [ohwell]

going by the photo ,I would say this is gonna have a CoD 2 feel about it mate, the CoD 4 maps seem to be more "modern" in looks ,and this has a very olden style about it ,but perhaps the CoD 4 textures will keep in context with the game

either way ,I will be kepping an eye on this project ,BTW I go by the name of Redskull on all the other forums now [wave]

yeah i gonna use the old-french-village formule once again[casanova]

but i think it fits cod4, after all this is an existing modern village.
and now with cod4 i wanted to make something truly beautiful[biggrin]

nice looking plan. [thumbs_up]

for the purpose of fitting it with cod4, I would consider not calling it a "french" village, but rather some "eastern europe" village. Maybe some country-side russian village as seen in cod4 sp? don't get me wrong bro, I think the map concept should work in cod4 (village with tight houses) but that the styling maybe shouldn't be french as it'll be harder, i think, to find textures and models that are french-looking. (while there is many russian or middle eastern textures in cod4 - you know store signs, posters, road signs and such)
