I just bougth this game and installed it in my PC. I can play multiplayer, but I can not play the singleplayer.
I've been checking my DVD ROM drive and it say everything is working properly but when i put the cd into the DVD rom drive to play singleplayer, nothing happen, so I try to run it manualy opening other program to run it, but it say no disc.
I've tried with some DVD's movies and it works opened by windows media player or Power DVD program.
Why the game it wont run in it?
What I need to do?

Thanks in advanced!!!!

If you have a legit retail CD version of the game, and your CD-ROM is in good condition (i.e its working properly) then try this::

Activision Answers

and some more help found from the bit-tech forums::

good luck

For WinXP:
Right click My Computer, Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager button, then look under DVD/CD-ROM drives, right click the drive you are having a problem with, and click Properties. Look under Details tab, Device Instance Id, or under Firmware Revision. The first entry should tell you the drive model number, and possibly may have a number indicating the firmware version number.

What I am getting at is maybe you need a firmware upgrade on the drive. You can also use 3rd party programs to check the drive information including firmware version numbers, like Nero and others.

Also, since you are using a DVD, make sure the region code is set on the drive to the region the DVD disc was meant for. Check under the DVD Region tab when you click on the drive properties.

Check to make sure the DVD disc isn't scratched or dirty.

If you have access to another PC with a DVD drive, try the disc in that PC, if it works then you know that you have a problem with the DVD drive software, firmware, drivers, or in the way it is set up on your PC under your O/S.

By any chance you might have an emulation software(s) on your system? Such as Alcohol 120%, deamon tools, cloneCD etc? Most ant emulation softwares will cause such a problem with the new Safedisk protection, along with other protection system these games has. Many of the newer ones are very difficult to bypass, even with legit CD/DVD in the drive. The only way I found to make it work, is just simply uninstall them, if you want to play bad enough. I've got Alcohol 120% on my system and COD 4 will refuse to load SP mode, although MP mode is no problems since MP mode do not require the CD/DVD to play.
Only way for me to play SP is to simply uninstall Alcohol 120%. Make sure, if you have more than one drive, that you install the disk in the same drive that you installed the game from. Do you get any kind of error when trying to play SP mode?

Also if your OS is vista then make sure you have not checked the option 'run compatible for' in the properties menu
