Due to unfortunate circumstances, I have acquired 2 new laptops with plenty of ram and hard drive space. The only major problem is vista and COD. I have been unable to run COD 2, Radiant 2 or COD 4 on either laptop. On is a Toshiba and may be the Graphic card is generic. The other is an Acer with an Nvidia card.

Heck, I even upgraded to Vista Ultimate and downloaded Virtual PC. I then purchased XP home addition and attempted to install it on my one computer. Net result... following the set up instructions... reformatting my hard drive to it's original state and losing all my data. I have contacted Infinity Ward etc with no response. Has anyone heard of a site with a patch or anything of that nature.

I have also tried combinations of running with XP compatibility , Run as administrator and the whole 9 yards. No luck. I think it is nonsense that a new game would not be up to par to run on the various Vista configurations (Cod 4).

I guess I will restrict my COD 2 and mapping to my desktop and keep my XP so that I can install it should I need a new desk top..

could you post the specs of both laptops? they just might not be good enough to run the game, by just saying the names of the companies that produced them we can't really help out

not to pop your bubble or anything but wouldn't moving your finger and then clicking the button to shoot be kinda difficult? not to mention you couldn't turn-and-shoot, ie: moving shots.

But if it's really what you want... [ohwell]

Can you just not install it, or can you install it but just not run it?

You know what an external mouse is, right?

It's very rare that people use the built in pad...
