I'm making my first map, and I've created a couple of brushes that have less than six faces. I've isolated them, but I can't select them with control + shift to delete them. Any ideas?

Ctrl + Shift only allows you to select one surface or multiple faces on same or several brushes. You would normally hold shift key down to select a brush and delete.

What I think you have done. You probably created a brush. Pressed E and then moved an edge to create a triangle. If this is what you did then the brush becomes unselectible (I don't know why? it just does?).

The only way I've found to reselect and delete is to first select any surrounding brushes you want and hide them (h). Then draw a brush around the brush you cant select normally. While this larger brush is selected, choose menu Selection>Select>Select inside. This will then select this brush and allow you to delete.

Sevensniff and Eladd:

Thank you both for your help. I really have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm having a blast anyway. Just about everyone in my clan has picked up mapping at the same time, so it's been like one monkey helping another monkey perform surgery. I told one guy that I just learned that a brush needs to have six faces, and he responded: "What the hell's a brush? All I have is these walls."

That's exactly what I did.

Thanks again.

Well good luck with your projects. It you get one completed and released. You'll be pleased to know thats one up on me [lol]

I don't know how long its been since I first started mapping.
I seem to work on a 3 month cycle where I map enthusiastically for 2 - 4 weeks then get sidetracked with life for 3 -4 months! then repeat.

Maybe that should be next years resolution? To finish a map?

I hope that doesn't end up being my M.O., too. I'm not to worried about it, though, because I released something like 15 or 20 different versions of our mod over the space of about 16 months.

I guess I just need to have my work appreciated. [jumping] Now, it's all about making something worthy of appreciation. I'll definitely need more help from you guys.
