hi, im putting some telephone poles in my map but cant seem to get the wire right. it looks great in the sp game but have no idea what texture to use and how to get that great sag in it. suggestions are fully appreciated

Hi mate,

I used a terrain patch and changed the settings to tube or cylinder, then you have to stretch to the required length in the normal manner you would stratch a brush, you then need to highlight the vertices press 'V', then drag the middle vertice down to the required "sag" - this worked for me unless anyone else has some suggestions.

thanks norman, that works pretty well but i was hoping for a more gentle sag, that way the sag seems a little too "V" like, maybe i can get it to work if i play with it. thanks

use a patch mesh it will then smooth out

If you up the vertex density to high when you create the cylinder (I think it is SHIFT+] once or twice) then you will have more verts to smooth out the sag manually by moving the verts in the z-axis, just another option.
