Tech.co.uk - James Morris, 13 Dec 2007:

"What are we to make of a game that is too intensive for even the fastest graphics platforms on the planet? German website PC Games Hardware has managed to get its hands on an early sample of Nvidia's Tri-SLI. And, amazingly, even a trio of Nvidia Geforce 8800 Ultras isn't enough to play Crysis at maximum quality settings at HD resolution. Is Crysis too demanding for any hardware currently available?"'

I seemed to do OK on medium to low settings on MP. [crazy] I didn't play much of SP.

Messing around with the editor is fun. At least with the editor I can make a really, really small map, jack up the settings to high, and enjoy the better graphics; if I don't move around too much. [lol]

Looks like the game of the year for 2012, when we will all have quantum based computing and sextuple SLI GeForce 13900 1 Tb cards... LOL! j/k

An upcoming patch is supposed to help with performance. It better be one helluva patch! [biggrin]

I run Crysis with all settings at "high" (sound at "very high") (no AA) at 1440x900 on a single 8800gt (all stock speeds except for a slight shader overclock), a Q6600 G0 SLACR at stock speeds & 3GHz of pc6400 ram. It runs perfectly smoothly at those settings so I really can't see how 3 8800 ultras aren't enough to run the game maxed out. I can understand that ultra high resolutions will cause a performance hit but then again hardly anyone is gaming at resolutions higher than 1680x1050 anyway. In the new year I plan on buying another 8800gt & an nforce 780i motherboard. With a bit of overclocking on my cpu i'm confident my pc will then run Crysis maxed out at 1440x900 no problem.

I'm betting tri sli won't run SimCity 4 at full speed on max settings either (if the game supported this multiple card nonsense)
