Hey guys, I need a couple of ideas for my Sniper map - Townshend. I'm mapping it in CoD2 right now but I'm gonna change that just as soon as CoD4 SDK is released.

Like I said I need a couple of ideas. I've got a nice roadway going and I'm putting in an underground tunnel system. Any ideas are appreciated.

What I'm looking for is suggestions such as "You could have a huge destroyed building." or "You could put a warehouse." or "Put in a huge building." See what i'm asking for? OR, tell me what your favorite map is that you like to snipe in.

lol, if you can give us examples of what you want us to suggest, why do you need us to suggest them? haha...

What would be nice is a double road running east-west through the middle and a full line of damaged urban buildings lining each side with lots of bushes, trees, and tall grass with bumpy terrain at the base. Roof access and countless windows (DARKENED interior to make it hard to spot someone without a scope) would be a must.

Is that enough? lol

hey i play a sniper server on uo just got cod 4 and thinking mmmmm its so fast paced/run and gun, but i get used to it on larger maps.
so my suggestion would to be build a map that is big, with open area in middle of map and plenty of distance accross the map
dare is say a little like the large blackhawk down town type maps it would be fun to have buildings you can get in to and look out of more sides.
the important thing for a sniper map is to make it more worth while camping for a target than running in to it as you turn a corner sprinting round killing+dieing minus your deaths from your kills and thats your score
mirror maps have those angled shots from oppsite corners of maps and plenty of feild of vision
make it so you can hide in grass on hill tops so you gan scope from prone with out standing out too much while being able to scope from prone also as grass drops away over hill.
it would also be cool if you could put some extra sniper ammo in the buildings near the many spawns spots.

i have assumed yor map will be sneak and peak not symetrical there is nothing like the stab/bash on unsuspecting snipers transfixed on whats out the windows/doors
and for the moders off the game reading plaes allow snipers ot be able to plant and remove claymores for security if you move on take em with you to guard your six
a good egsampl of what i mean is foy/ponry/karkov/italy
zox map destert storm valley/valley of the kings day or night
have not played any night maps yet there is an idea
lots of blown up cars for cover in streets or like that map with the oil and gas containers and green houses but bigger much bigger
like that launch site map what spoils that is there is no full round cover every where is visible from some where else there is no sneak and peak unless your in the very corner of map behind spawns and a dustbin.
well there are some ideas hope you make some maps for cod 4 it needs em for sure

Many destroyed buildings with plenty of rubble. If you are going for STDM? Then your divide should be a pit with dogs in it, that kill you if you try to cross...[cool]

you just know there will soon exist a sniper map thats full of the bus prefabs say about 6-10 wide and 4-5 layers high

a giant lamp, about 4000*4000*8000 units big, place slightly east from the center of the map, with a strong light emitting from it - stronger than the sun settings

Just for the matter of instant getification, I'll just make a beta real quick with a pit in the middle, concrete walls, and a big building with one window going all the way across. Did i mention it's prolly gonna be really small? Expect LOTS O KILLS!!! The real version will be very long and overall HUGE. I really REALLY liked the first Sniper level in CoD4 campaign so There's prolly gonna be a lot of tall grass and tall buildings.

It's alot like the MHZ Arena in CoD2. =)
