I'd like a revamped UO as well. It's not just vehicles and big maps - I think it's a more polished game than the IW games. Been talking with Raaaa, comparing UO to 2 and 4
Sprinting in UO is very smoothly done, but CoD4 though, it's easier to snag a brush, and actually end up sprinting on the spot. UO let's you reload while running for cover too - which saves me a hell of a lot of frustration
Weapon classes actually mean something in UO. In 4, smgs, lmgs, and assault rifles are effective at any range seeing that they all have 0 AdsSpread and flat damage values at values above their mindamagerange. In CoD1/UO, a bolt action rifle guaranteeds a one shot kill if you hit the torso, where the BAR and MP44 need a couple of accurate ADS shots to do the same. In 4 smgs, lmgs, and assault rifles, one shot or automatic, all require a couple of shots
None of this daft hit indicator malarky in UO - you just see a small puff of blood and that's it
UO's netcode and hitbox. CoD2 had rediculous hitboxes, and i've never had a ping under 60ms yet in CoD4, with the average player (UK players on a UK server) having pings around 100
I'm just hoping some of the old Gray Matter team are working on CoD5

Have you played CoD4?
First of all, Sprinting is great in cod4. It's a toggle (allowing for you to take your finger off of the sprint key and get ready to do something else when your done such as pull out your air support or something), and it's more realistic. Think about it.. If you're sprinting in real life, are you going to have time to think about reloading your weapon? especially while theres bullets and crap flying at you. Hell, you might even freaking slip because you stepped in a little hole or something and drop the ammo clip.
second, Weapon classes are awesome in CoD4. No, they dont have the great bolt rifles that the rest of the series did, but their weapons were really good. The weapon accuracy got better (same with in real life.. as time went on the weapon accuracy got better). The ads DOES have a spread. Have you tried shooting somone across the map while using ads? it is nowhere near perfectly right on the dot; sure the first steadied shot is pretty close, but after that it goes all around. The customizable weapons & skins are awesome, so you can fit your stats to your own PERSONAL liking. Also about the bolts - The bolt snipers in cod4 ARE a 1hit kill if u hit torso or head. They were bugged before and have been fixed.
Third, you must not have played on a server ANYWHERE near you for cod4. I see pings below 50 on cod4 all the time. it is not hard to get if you have a decent internet connection. hell, my internet connection SUCKS and i get pings of 75-85 on average!
lastly, CoD2 topped CoDuo on recoil, accuracy, and hitboxes. Sure CoD2 lacked a LOT of features (sprinting, satchels, rank, artillery, etc) but the gameplay was a lot smoother and the weapons were better (in my opinion).

"omg. How stupid can Activision be? i mean come on, only like 10,000 people bought CoD3 while nearly 10,000,000 bought CoD2 AND CoD4. Any one up for sending a petition of some sort?"
why would they WANT to talk to you after that?
yes COD 3 was a rush job, because of scheduling.
COD 4 had 2 YEARS of development, COD 3 had 9 MONTHS.
which do you think would come out the best with that kind of scheduling? do you think IW said "we're gonna take 2 years to make COD 4" and TreyArch said " we only want 9 months for COD 3". are you REALLY that stupid??? if you want to blame somebody, then write your stupid petitions to Activision and tell them YOU WANT the studios to have more time to make a better game.
and this: "R&R Projects could do better than TreyArch"
in your freakin dreams.
if you think its SO easy to do, then put your money where your mouth is and go to the studio and prove yourself.
make your OWN level and your OWN script and your OWN SP or MP gameplay and submit it for review. try doing something ORIGINAL of your OWN instead of claiming everybody else's work as your own because you change one or two things.
just because you can alter a skin or mod somebody else's script, you think you're a mod god?
get real. and get a life. and shut the hell up.
Have you played call of duty 3 for the Xbox??
have you seen the floating creates in the game not 1 or 2 but the whole level... very profesional!! i must say... nice blown up buildings youll find floating bricks every where....
these guys are getting paid to do that job..i am not a mod god i play at mapping and i rip scripts.... i am not a wannabe :) i am a selfemployed builder in REAL life and if i made an " ERROR" whilst building a house i would 1. be made to put it right at my own exspense 2 not get paid 3 told to get the hell out of the job...
but mabe some people like crap work and produce it hey heres my money give me some of your cheap rubbish
your bang out of order !!

Yes Bloodlust, you make a good point, but please don't turn this into a flame war.

Bloodlust writes...Quote: I was gonna say "didnt you see where I said I never played COD 3"? but that wasnt in this thread, it was in a different one.
no actually I never played COD 3, because it was on console. and I since I started playing PC games way back in the day of the PS1 and original Nintendo, I have never gone back to consoles. but with Christmas coming up I'm thinking of maybe ... MAYBE getting an XBOx 360 with Guitar Hero 3. and if I do, then I might get COD 3 as well just to see what all the fuss is about.
in TreyArch's defense, 9 months is NOT long enough to put out a 95% or better game. but still I would think they would have time enough to fix floating crates and bricks...
I guess I will have to play it and see for myself.
i wouldnt bother giving them your hard earned money
well look at it from my point of view take a look at this sorry its not very clear taking videos of my tv.. this is just about 5 mins in 1 level..
video here
and yes i do belive alot of people on this forum could do much much better than whats on that video even R&R projects
and possibly even you!!! dont come back slagging me off till you look at that video so you know what your talking about
