if you are testing your map in an iwd, the game will run the iwd before it runs the map that you made changes to. so you would need to drop the d3dbsp into the iwd in order to see the changes.

the iwd is not created automatically. Make sure that you are putting your new bsp file into the proper directory and overwriting (or moving) the old bsp file. Thats the last little step that a lot of people forget about when compiling new changes to a map.

Your .d3dbsp file is n ot being updates.
Post your compile log so we can see why.

How to get your compile log:
Right click the black window window.
Select all.
Press enter.
You can now paste it in a text file or post it here.

Im not sure of this but I have heard that the program will generate a .bak file of your .map. You may not have actually lost it. Perhaps a moderator or other mapper may know more about this.

Good luck.

The CoD2 compiler doesn't do this unfortunately.

This problem has also sadly hapened to me repeatedly. What I did once that worked is open the .map file, Save it as a different name (something like "BUILDINGMAP_MAPNAME")and compile that. Then When I've finished the map, I just save it as the original name.

If you were working on the map for long and have autosave check in the preferences you may be able to get some of the map back by findin the autosave file.
