Planetquake is as useless a site as there is on the net. IMO.

For Quake editing I always used Quark but it is no longer in active development and has too many bugs. So I see where Radiant 1.5 offers Quake 1 support. The problem I'm having is with getting textures to appear in the editor. I know the textures are in the bsp's which I have extracted. It doesn't matter where I put the textures ..quake/id1/textures
..quake/textures
etc. They won't show in the editor. I have set the path properly in preferences. I need some help and thanks!

I don't know much about quake 1.

I assume the textures are not actually in the bsp file but rather in a pk file of some sort. You want to make sure you extract the contents in their apporpriate folders as they were stored from the directory in which the file originated.

It should matter where you put the textures.

I wish I knew more about the game and it's installation, but I don't. :(

Thanks foyleman,

The textures are actually right in the bsp's in Q1 which is why one doesn't need to include accesory files if using a seperate texture wad. Thanks for the reply though. I recall your invaluable help when I was doing my SoF Siberian Urinal and Cake Co. map and any post is helpful as it usually prompts more posts. I'll keep looking and let you know what I find.

The textures need to be extracted from the bsp's. I used Texmex and compiled into wad files which are placed in the ..quake/id1 directory. Alternatively, one can download wads from various sites and use those instead.
