I would go for quad core, they are cheap atm, cheaper than dual cores, they are also able to handle more information at once and at fast speeds,

it will also make your computer futureproof for alot longer than a dua lcore as future games are going to require quad cores... even crysis says that a quad core will be suitable for max settings...

check out youtube to get people oppinions on quad cores and how they perform in there computers.. allways helps

It's just that by comparing the quad core Q6600 2.4 ghz and the dual core E6850 3.0 ghz which go for about the same price, the dual core comes out on top the majority of the time wether it's for games or other applications. Already the dual core's clock speed is faster and at the moment games don't take advantage of 4 cores. But like you said, future games will probably be built to take advantage of it...but a big part of what makes a game run smooth like Foyle said is graphics memory. I'm thinking that having a fast dual core and a big amount of graphic memory will compensate for future demands of games. And I don't think that future games will require a quad core, but I'll look into it furhter. Thanks westonegoth.
