ok
cool
so after puttin in the intermissions and spawns, just compile and your down, or is there more?


also...any tips on like doing a sun behind the clouds? im using the same sky seen in the mp_ship...a sort of cloudy afternoon or mid-morning part of the day

as for lights inside and outside, just put one under/in lanterns and lights on the cielings or walls?

every map must have at least one deathmatch intermission and one deathmatch spawn. If you have at least that you can compile. make sure you have entered your world spawn values.

there are many sky textures in the skies texture folder. try a different one each time you compile until you find one you like.

for lights look at the tutorials on the left of this screen they will help alot.

i know that part, i was just wondering if there was a specific way you had to do it or if you had to type anything into their classnames or whatever.
anyway, how exactly does the lighting i want to do work?
i have looked in several places, but they havent really helped me any...

Aloha Major_Lowrey.. Have you entered all the Worldspawn Settings? If not and are not sure how, you can check this tutorial out here..

You will want to look at the end of the tutorial to see how to enter the Worldspawn Settings.. By this I mean things such as..

Code:
"_color" "200 200 205"
"ambient" "0.16"
"sunlight" "1"
"suncolor" "100 100 210"
"sundirection" "-45 95 0"
"sundiffusecolor" "200 200 210"
"diffusefraction" "0.55"


If you want extra lighting you will have to add lights to your map.. Hope helps..

ok, v-1 map is almost complete...put in the lights...though not exactly sure if i did it right
still need to do the sun...i have 3 tdm spawnpoints put in...is that ok or do i need to delete a couple of them??

one other thing...i want the map to be american vs german...how do i make that happen??

quick note also...i dont know if it will affect anything, but there are 2 textures used in the map that are not regular cod1 or uo....i dont know if that will cause problems for other people or not...

three tdm spawnpoints is not nearly enough! put in many more and try grouping them in different areas so as players will spawn close to each other. I have 25 to 30 tdm spawns in my maps

carentan has 32 dm spawnpoints as a guide line
