The return. Was a very active member n sp mapper here aobut 2 years back for cod1, was a mod in cod2 sp all ready to go when cod2 came out, n realising it was shite, that was it, wellnow cod4 is here and is good, im back with avengance :D

ok the question. Something i could never get to work with cod1 or 2

I want to remove individual hud elements. To heres my test case for cod4

hud_shotgun.iwi

I have the cod2 tools, to make it dds and convert back to iwi

My problem is understand alpha layers i think

All i actually need to do is make the image blank so that it dosnt show up in game, course its more complicated than that, with cod1 w and 4 it just crashes if i replace it, i think its beacuse of the way i blank it and because of my save options

Can anyone tell me in what steps i need to take in photoshop to leave the image blank but whilst still allowing cod (in this case 4) to accept it

for cod1 the image can be a .dds in DXT1 (not good for alpha) or DXT3 or DXT5

i think cod4 .iwi are in a different format from cod2 .iwi

ah ok

well console wise so far

hud_fade_ammodisplay
hud_fade_compass
hud_fade_offhand
hud_fade_sprint
hud_fade_stance

cg_cursorhints

cg_hudgrenadeiconheight

cg_hudgrenadepointerwidth

cg_huddamageicontime

That gets rid of most of it. Still stuck with hints such as press n to turn on night vision, the hint showing how the compas works (really bloody annoying) and the near death red pulse

Im trying to get it so the only 2d hud elements left are obj screen, obj update text, weapon scopes, intro text. getting there

also these are gonna be fun once can get the game in dev mode

missilejav u can choose the height jav rocket rises and the speed it decends amoungst other things, Going to ammuse me having it shoot to 10000 feet before crashing at lighting speed into the tanks ^^

also player health, gonna be good having an sp 1 hit kills mod (so the player dies in 1 hit) provided the enemy accuracy is ammended properly to suit it.

Think i might add a hell of alot more flash and bang to the flashbang 2
