so the q3a rain/snow effect can be scalable from the options menu? everyone upgrades sooner or later, we can crank it up then :)

narc : not THAT scalelable - the standard is a lot of rain with impact effects or a bit of rain with no impact effects. Or something. I'll muck around with the inbuilt rain some more first.

rEdrUmMDK : Man Down is a simple SoF2 mod. Just adding things I feel would help regular SoF2 and now I'm also adding things to help make better maps and so forth. If you want to test it out (mapping wise or just gameplay), email me.


I've given up on the new bot naviation stuff for now - taking too long. Rather get on with cooler and/or more useful features.

Speaking of which - would being able to define default items and/or item choices per team be useful to anyone??

ie. Make red look like marines and give them access to the M4, US SOCOM, MSG90A1.
Make blue look like Columbians and give them access to the AK74, M1911, M60.

that would be good but also to keep it voteable so they can vote it off/on, also i dunno if this is already possible, but an override to limit weapons globally for the server would be good too -- so any map can be used on knifefight only server, or sniper only server, or no shotguns server, etc. [cool]

it would give people more reasons to run it on their server the more options and stuff there are. every new feature that alters the gameplay should be kept optional so that admins who just want team defined weapons but not prone or rolling can add it any which way they want.

So far most things are optional. The exceptions are that the new MP5 (non-silenced) replaces the MP5 SD on maps (that was added in the SoF2 1.01 patch) and the M4 Assault (with no attached M203 grenade launcher) replaces the M4/M203 Assault on maps.

g_defaultItems can easily be reset to the internal 'SoF2' default by setting it to '0'. I'll added similar options to the team settings.
ie. Map loads, sets g_defaultRed/BlueItems value to what ever worldspawn has defined. Shortly after that the g_defaultRed/BlueItems cvar is read, found to be '0' and so both are reset to internal defaults.
