nullFew tips for coding.
1. Keep the script as short as possible.
2. Don't comment every line. Only comment portions where they may be needed to point something out.
3. Don't over complicate the script, keep it organized and easy to read.

These help you find simple errors and makes it easy to make changes.

For ppl who don't have a good enough rig to play cod4 as of yet (like me), do ppl have any comments or thoughts on the demo? (without spoiling it too much)

thank you

Controls for console version are better, unless you have long fingers to stretch around the keyboard to equip grenade launcher and whatnot.

Pretty fun.

My rig sucks too, but it looks nice on 1024x768 with medium settings.
2 GB Ram.
7600GTs SLI.
Windows XP SP2.
Dual Core AMD X2 +3800.

Download completed. Painfully slow.

Single player mission completed. Painfully fast.

That should not be construed as a criticism of the game. I enjoyed the little bit of action that there was, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Running the demo on a machine that's somewhat above the recommended specs, these are my first impressions:

1. The graphics are very good, though not stunning. It did seem to make a noticeable difference to turn the resolution up to 1280 x 1024. The rendering of the environments, models and FX create much better atmospherics than what we got with CoD2.

2. The weapon models I saw looked great. They're sufficiently powerful with a good rate of fire, so using them is quite satisfying. There's a good variety to the armament. The javelin rocket launcher in particular was really fun to use.

3. The night vision effect is very well done.

4. The enemy AI was unimpressive, even on the highest difficulty level (the difference in difficulty seems to be a function of accuracy and damage, rather than tactics, but that's just a very preliminary assessment). The friendly AI appeared much more ... I guess the word is organized.

5. Health regeneration is the same as CoD2.

6. The environmental sounds are generally good, although the sounds that were carried over from CoD2 feel a little out of place. Thankfully, the AI voiceovers aren't overdone. Make sure you turn your volume up a bit.

7. The scope sway seemed to be vastly reduced from what I remember in the previous games. Holding my breath didn't seem to be necessary at all.

All in all, the game feels very fresh and very familiar at the same time. Aside from the obvious departure from the WWII genre, there's something different to the overall feel of the game that I haven't been able to put my finger on just yet. That said, I felt right at home at the controls, and the learning curve was really low. Veteran CoD players are going to be able to step right into this game with a minimum of adjustment.

I am really, really looking forward to the multiplayer side of this game.

Pretty good game from the get go although I had to run it at a small resolution and low settings (desperately need a new vid card)

To sum it up quickly think GRAW blended with CoD2 gameplay and gameflow.

I picked the controls up quickly, the weapons are great and it was intense, almost too much so and I think the multiplayer will be a little more calm than the single but more hectic than cod2's with the faster shooting, more damaging weapons.

I'm looking forward to modding and mapping this baby, it's hard to tell how a game will be multiplayer wise but if it's anything like the single player toned down, then I feel that activision picked up the ball that they dropped when switching from UO to cod2.

Comparing it to the 360, PC single play looks like its going to be not as good as what the 360 could be like on single player.

360 cod4 online was verry hectic if you are playing with some good guys, i should image pc being less due to you have to reach further for different weapons etcetera.

so i think cod4 on pc will be more tacticle online, one thing i did notice is that the guys who come in in the helicopters, one guy waves to your right and his hand is waving through the windwos of the glass lol.[lol]
