hmm well i have 2 maps in progress but im up to my eyeballs modding weapons, vehicles and other stuff atm to finish the maps i have. i can't really enter anything until i've learned the subtler arts of mapmaking - alpha, curves, hills, slopes, lakes and rivers - i can do the gameplay planning bits and all the brushwork, and have a large fun map with almost all gametypes. the polishing bits though is where i fall down, so maybe i'll enter next years comp unless someone who knows these sacred arts wants to team up lol. no incentive will make me enter until i have a finished product that i am proud of.

Instead, Would you like some early release games? Like Halo 3 and other stuff. The day they are released for prizes too?

i think it is kinda late in the game to be changing gears now....

i would say stick with the prize(s) as outlined - and we can visit new ideas for upcoming / planned contests

I agree. Stick with the plan and then use these newer ideas for the next one.

Cheers

Lol i totaly didn't make my deadline! I wanted the website host... but i am going to jump all over the 25% off price :)
nullFew tips for coding.
1. Keep the script as short as possible.
2. Don't comment every line. Only comment portions where they may be needed to point something out.
3. Don't over complicate the script, keep it organized and easy to read.

These help you find simple errors and makes it easy to make changes.

I've not been online for a while now (been working on my map), and I saw foyleman's suggestion about a hardware prize, so I'm going to differ from stryder and foxhound, I REALLY NEED a new graphic card so I think it is a very good idea from foyleman - webhosting isn't too exciting because you can get a ton of them for free on the net anyway. Maybe foyleman can start a voting poll or something for the prize, although is might be a bit late for that lol.

I am now more concerned about entries than prizes. There are 4 more days left to enter (4.5 days) and no entries have been submitted. If we don't get a decent turn-out for the contest, it may not happen. [ohwell]

Oh well, I guess you're right. I'm just finishing mine now, all I still have to do is finish the last part of the script, put in sound, complete the decoration, test and submit.
