Its already there but nothing change.
Also, when I save the map or aleast the part of I can get, 'cause theres no textures, only those what I've used in other map using Radiant, I got a message: "unable to delete the old .bak file:2", & "unable to rename the map".
This is what it is in the project setting:
w:\doom\base
w:\doom\base\maps
w:\doom\base
w:\doom\base\scripts\*.def
w:\doom\base\textures
And when I try to change everything to:
C:/Program File/Doom 3/base I close the editor and reopen it, and everything is back to the begin, nothing change.
What is screwing it here, why it doesn't work?
Please body, I need your help!!! |

I mentioned the doom.qe4 file since it wasn't installed correctly on mine and that solved the original problem that we both had. As for the Project settings you have to change those out to reflect your game settings ie:
These are my settings:
basepath = C:\Program Files\Doom 3\base
mapspath = C:\Program Files\Doom 3\base\maps
remotebasepath = C:\Program Files\Doom 3\base
entitypath = C:\Program Files\Doom 3\base\scripts\*.def
texturespath = C:\Program Files\Doom 3\base\textures
Originally I had the game installed on a separate drive and the editor didn't work however I re-installed onto my C drive and it seems to work as it should.
As for your textures not showing goto your inspectors window - click on media tab - expand textures tree and view from there.
The doom.qe4 file still didn't install correctly however once I placed a copy in the base file the editor ran fine.
Cheers

- Uninstall as usual.
- Delete the folders on your hard drive to make sure nothing is left behind. These will be listed in your Program Files folder. Although nothing should be in your Documents and Settings folder, I suggest you look through it for any signs of additional files that should be deleted.
- backup your registry and then search it for anything related to the game. Game and editor settings could possibly be hiding in your registry.
- then reboot and reinstall.
, Oh! Brother, it's so frustating.
Its the same crap of ****! So sorry!. I did as you said and still missing stuff in the editor, and now I can't do free view with the mouse, only left, right , up, and down. I can't turn anymore.
I've uninstalled it completly, I even delete the reg key and start over again after reboot the machine, made the copy in the desktop, rename it, all as it say in the tutorial. So how to compile the map when its already finished?
Why still missing stuff?
Why the mouse view is acting wierd now?
why? Why? |

Well, don't give up yet as we haven't. It looks like you might be using the "Create a New Shortcut method" to running the DOOMEdit. Just out of curiosity try it the other method of through the console? ie: This tutorial here describes it in para 4 bullet 2 .
Give it a shot and see if it helps any if not try this link here as it has all the relevant info for the editor.
Don't give up yet.
Cheers

Very interesting tutorials but nothing about the other stuff missing.
In the video tutorial and one of those links you gave me, theres a pic, with the editor view and you can see all the stuff right there inclueding the compile botton and more, and mine stop on : "spline options" and "edit curve points", thats it. So thats it means to me, that the editor is not working properly, also, like I said before, I can not have turns view with the mouse by pressing Ctrl and poo-poo key and moving the mouse in the 3D window as I have it before. And now I have a second 2D view window in the back.
Do anybody else can map with this? or they just drop it?
I have tried in manyways, and nothing it seems to work, or you guys have a diferent game than me. |
